So Many Tigers to Stripe
So Many Tigers to Stripe
It's 2022.01.01 on the lunar calendar today.
After cutting out a few dozen tigers, I looked down at the pile of orange and thought to myself, "so many tigers to stripe." I was in full-elf mode for the holiday. And it's here! We've now entered the Year of the Tiger!! 2022 is already proving to be eventful in its first month.
I'm shooting a music video, settling into a new home, recommitting to the practice of writing (words), attending a much-anticipated pho brunch, and actively collaborating with Ross Moss on the next album. And a thing I've had to keep under wraps is being released this month ...
Me Right Now
AminalStickers allow me to express and observe a greater range of emotions than emojis in text exchanges, and they crack me up when I can picture the sender looking like the Aminal. This YEET-ing fly is me these days (at least on the inside, on the outside I probably look tired). So many tigers to stripe!
In James Baldwin's Words
“An artist is a sort of emotional or spiritual historian. His role is to make you realize the doom and glory of knowing who you are and what you are. He has to tell, because nobody else in the world can tell, what it is like to be alive. All I’ve ever wanted to do is tell that, I’m not trying to solve anybody’s problems, not even my own. I’m just trying to outline what the problems are.
I want to be stretched, shook up, to overreach myself, and to make you feel that way too.”

In case you missed it or want a refresher on how to play yut nori and my mom's ddeokguk recipe, I'm linking to my Lunar New Year Special above.
Happy new year! ʳᵃʷʳ 🐯
