Wearing My Leaf Tiara

It's 2023.10.01 on the lunar calendar today.

Hi everyone, how are you? I spent a few days last week gathering foliage for a music video I shot yesterday with director Jon. Pictured above is a still where I ended up with a little leaf tiara. I was worried the leaves would be too crunchy by the time we got to the shoot but they ended up looking great.

My mom also gathered leaves for me—the same amount I had collected over maybe four to five hours but in a matter of minutes before she rushed off to work. I couldn't help but examine the front and back of each leaf as I picked them up, and it's no wonder a passerby asked if I was conducting scientific research, seeing me gingerly pick up leaf after leaf with a glove on.

There was little that was scientific about the music video but I did develop a new hypothesis following the shoot. While I had makeup on, I figured I would record another video—a DIY iPhone clip where I would cry while singing. But I couldn't get myself to shed a single tear when I needed to. My baby sister tried to encourage(?) me saying, "You have so many things to be sad about." Lol. If you've been feeling sad and want to stop feeling sad, try to get yourself to cry on cue. Suddenly, you may realize you feel nothing at all and that you're basically heartless.
